About

January Buzz:
I can’t believe the quality. I’m so proud. Creativity and originality. You guys are just as good as anybody out there. I didn’t see this coming. Congratulations, you’re on the map now. A joy to watch. You got me. I just love the spirit of the thing, I got wrapped up in it. I felt your pain. Intelligent, so witty. Even better the second time I saw it. The soundtrack is so eclectic. I’ve been there before. What an adventure. I loved it. It was an honor to witness your resolve. I laughed hard and often. Dead-on. I wasn’t bored for one second. So organic. Lotta fun. That one part gave me chills. I wanted to see more. There’s an audience for this. It’s done, it’s coherent, and it’s good. Can’t wait to see what is next?

Summary:
This movie is about…making a movie.

Synopsis:
THE FESTIVAL is a short (within a short) starring four colorful characters who join forces to submit to a film festival. In 40 hours or less, they must collaborate on a destination film that captures their relentless pursuit of Industry breakthru. BTS footage reveals The Producer, The Diva, The Leading Man, and The Lounge Singer on their whacky pre-production roadtrip.  Location isn’t the only thing they’re on.

Production Timeline:
August 2009
: The Festival’s 4 principal actors toasted champagne in a theater green room and sparked a chemistry that could not be duplicated.
September 2009: Aleia sent Crystal a text  about a short film competition. On the corner of Santa Monica and Highland, a white light of inspiration flashed in Crystal’s eyes: We need to do a short film with our counterparts. Let’s rally the key production players we’ve worked with or wanted to work with.  Invite some key strangers to come along for the ride.
October 2009: We took a roadtrip to shoot and wrap in 1 weekend.
November 2009: Stayed within our shoestring budget. Met our deadlines.
January 2010: Ready to share this love affair with the world.

Will the world join us in this celebration of independent filmmaking?
